Milwaukee Public Schools is Wisconsin's largest school district, serving more than 78,000 students in more than 160 schools across the city. MPS is home to the Milwaukee region’s two best high schools according to the Washington Post and three of state's 25 best high schools according to U.S. News and World Report. Mission Statement: Milwaukee Public Schools educates all students for success in higher education, careers and responsible citizenship so that MPS is the first choice for families. Vision Statement: Milwaukee Public Schools will be among the highest-performing urban public school districts in the country, providing rigorous, high-quality learning opportunities for students. Schools will enable lifelong learning among students, families, educators and other staff focused on continuous improvement. Teaching will be child-centered, based on research-proven methods, and aligned to high academic standards; it will meet the learning needs of individual students. The district, its schools, and its employees will be accountable for measurable gains in student achievement.
