About Iroquois/Kankakee ROE

Description provided by the district or community — not part of the NCES dataset.

The Iroquois-Kankakee (I-KAN) Regional Office of Education celebrated the academic accomplishments of 148 area seniors who were named Illinois State Scholars by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC). I-KAN hosted a banquet for students and their families at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 29 at the Quality Inn in Bradley. The event was co-sponsored by Kankakee Community College. Illinois State Scholar winners rank in the top ten percent of high school seniors from 749 different high schools across the state. Selection is based on SAT, ACT and/or Prairie State Achievement Exam scores, and/or class rank at the end of the junior year. “The Regional Office always looks forward to this event,” said Gregg Murphy, Regional Superintendent of Iroquois and Kankakee County schools. “It provides a venue where we can all come together – parents, guardians and educators -- to celebrate the academic successes of our students.”
