IMAGINE LIFE SCIENCES ACAD - EAST

We are a fourth year public charter school located on Indianapolis’ East side and service students in grades K-8 with a focus on character, curriculum and community. Our school is data driven. All students are given the NWEA (Northwest Evaluation Association) test in the fall, winter and spring. This test enables our teachers to track student growth and differentiate instruction to meet the needs of each individual student Our connection to the community affords us the opportunity to invite experts from the field into our classrooms to enhance student learning. Partnerships with local organizations such as Eli Lilly help to bring real life application of our curriculum into our classrooms. Our fourth graders even had Chris Wright (a local meteorologist) come in to talk to them about weather Our 6th and 7th grade boys’ basketball team was undefeated for their whole 2010-11 season which led them to the championship game at Conseco Fieldhouse. These young men demonstrated excellence in academics and character in addition to their outstanding display of athleticism. Despite a heartbreaking last second 1 point loss in the championship game, these fine gentlemen exhibited true sportsmanlike conduct and came away winners on a much broader scale Our school affords families the opportunity to spend time together along with their school family. This past year, families were able to participate in math night, a cultural arts fair, science night with the Indianapolis Children’s Museum, a talent showcase and our 2nd annual family carnival which garnered 1000 visitors
