South Putnam Community Schools

Our school corporation, located in south-central Putnam County, is a rural area with only a few small businesses and industries. The corporation covers an area of 163 square miles and is crossed by Interstate 70 and US Highway 40 to the east and west, and US Highway 231 to the north and south. South Putnam has approximately 1,250 students in Kindergarten through grade 12 divided among four buildings including South Putnam Junior-Senior High School, Central Elementary School covering Jefferson township, Fillmore Elementary School in Marion township, and Reelsville Elementary School with students from Warren and Washington townships. 203 full and part-time staff members consisting of 92 certified and 111 non-certified personnel are employed in the schools. Our certified staff are highly trained and experienced with 61% holding masters degrees or higher, and an average experience level of 18 years.
