Southwestern Consolidated School District was one of 23 districts in the state to be awarded money for The Excellence in Performance for Teachers’ Grant at the State House on Thursday, April 19, 2012. The district received nearly $60,000 to award teachers for excellence in the classroom. Pictured here from right to left are Indiana Superintendent Tony Bennett, Superintendent Paula Maurer, High School Principal Suzanne Blake, Elementary Principal Heather Noesges,teachers on the grant writing committee: Beth Green, Katie Bennett, Keith Starost and State Senator Jean Leising.
