About Caldwell

Description provided by the district or community — not part of the NCES dataset.

The purpose of the Caldwell Public Schools is to prepare each student for the challenges of life and to help him or her find a responsible and productive place in society. It is the responsibility of the students, parents, teachers, administrators, and community to provide and maintain an environment in which learning can take place and to afford each child the opportunity to attain his or her maximum potential. Recognizing the value of each individual in a diverse society is of utmost importance. Recognizing the worth of others requires that one first be aware of his or her own worth. Appreciating the value of each individual enables students to develop self-discipline. Education is a means to better the human conditions. Students will be provided the opportunity to learn how to function as a member of a democratic society. An awareness of divergent cultures and an understanding of the need to live together peacefully and harmoniously are an important part of the learning process. Education must prepare a student to accept change and it must nurture inquisitiveness by encouraging independent exploration of one's self and one's environment. High academic standards will be established and maintained and the school will be staffed by well educated, well-informed, and highly motivated professionals who are sensitive to the needs of students.
