About Bluestem

Description provided by the district or community — not part of the NCES dataset.

The present Bluestem High School was erected in 1973. During that time, Kenneth T. Pharr was the superintendent. Simpson and Son, Inc. of Wichita, were the General Contractors and Prigmore and Allen of El Dorado, were the Architects. When the school was first built, the shop/art rooms were not connected to the main building. As the school's population grew, so did the building. In 1991, the addition of the "B" wing hall added six classrooms and attached the shop/art building to the main building. At that time, L. Gerald Schuetz was the superintendent. Walz, Harman and Huffman, were the contractors and once again, Prigmore and Allen were the architects.
