RSU 45/MSAD 45

MSAD #45 is comprised of the towns of Perham, Wade & Washburn. We are a rural school unit of approximately 400 students.The District includes the David J. Lyon Washburn District Elementary School and the Washburn District High School.This district has always been strong academically and we are committed to retaining that distinction. This year we are offering an after school program to elementary students designed to enable all of our students to be proficient in Mathematics and Reading. This will extend the school day until 4:45 p.m. with extra classes in mathematics and reading that will also provide activites for the mind and body.Both schools have strong academic, highly qualified teachers who are dedicated to making every student successful. In addition, many of our students can and do attend nearby vocational high schools in Caribou and Presque Isle and the Carleton Project (an alternative school). In addition, some of our students have the opportunity of taking post-secondary courses at the University of Maine in Presque Isle, Northern Maine Community College, and online from the University of Maine in Orono.Everyone deserves a quality education in order to have a great life.-Superintendent of Schools
