Mission: Crosslake Community School, in partnership with its parents, strives to become a community of learners who are environmentally aware and community conscious, while establishing high standards for academic excellence. Vision: Crosslake Community School: C.C.S. - where academics lead to a stronger, healthier community. The Crosslake Community School is located in the beautiful lakes area in Crosslake, MN. It started in the fall of 2000 with 39 students. The Authorizer of CCS is the Audubon Center of the North Woods (ACNW). ACNW is a private, non-profit residential environmental learning center, a wildlife rehabilitation facility and conference and retreat center nestled on the shores of Grindstone Lake near Sandstone, MN in east-central Minnesota.
