About Lincoln International High School

Description provided by the district or community — not part of the NCES dataset.

Lincoln International High School was founded in 2007 in response to an urgent need in the community to serve a burgeoning immigrant population and to provide education and cultural opportunities not always met by Twin Cities Public Schools. Lincoln International High School is a state charter school that provides a comfortable and safe atmosphere where students can improve their English language skills and continue their adjustment to a new culture. The school utilizes both sheltered instruction and an English-Immersion approach on the theory that people acquire fluency when they use the target language in their daily lives. English is therefore the primary language of instruction and communication, with bilingual support serving rather than supplementing that function. The school offers programs all year round.
