Browns Valley Public School Dist

The Browns Valley Schools serve about 140 students in grades Pre K - 8th Grade. The District is located on the west central edge of Minnesota between Big Stone Lake and Lake Traverse, and shares a border with South Dakota. The Browns Valley District contains 49 square miles in Traverse County and also serves a number of Students living just across the border in South Dakota. High school students generally attend Sisseton High School (Sisseton, SD), approximately 12 miles west of Browns Valley. In 2002 Browns Valley School District was fortunate to receive a Federal Renovation Grant of nearly 1 million dollars. We are enjoying our newly remodeled facility. Each year the district is committed to making marked improvements. Along with yearly building updates, the district continually explores best practices for implementing technology. Smart Boards are in every classroom to foster the integration of technology into our curriculum. JMC, a student information system and Instant Alert are tools being used to enhance communications between home and school. We have a wonderful school district and staff. Browns Valley students enjoy the advantages of small class sizes, innovative 21st century curriculum and a wealth of programs. Kindergarten and Pre School are offered all day, every day. Students participate in numerous, extracurricular activities. A comprehensive After School Program is offered.
