The administration within the Minnetonka Public Schools ensures that all the diverse functions and talents within the organization are aligned to achieve the district's mission and strategic plan, which sets a course to transcend traditional definitions of excellence and ensures all students envision and pursue their highest aspirations while serving the greater good. Dr. Dennis Peterson, Superintendent of Schools, serves as the District's educational leader and chief executive officer. In business terms, the District has more than 1,400 employees, twelve facilities, and a $80 million annual operating budget. The Superintendent's Cabinet consists of the executive staff who provide leadership for the following areas: Human Resources, Teaching and Learning, Student Support Services, Communications, Community Education, and Finance and Operations. The Administrative Council consists of the executive staff, all school principals, and all supervisors and program managers. In addition to operational duties, members of the administrative council are responsible for ensuring implementation of various action plans within the District's strategic plan.
