ORONO PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT

The Orono School District is organized into four schools on a 120-acre central campus nestled against 2,000 feet of lakeshore. With a K-12 coordinated curriculum, we have stayed true to a long-time goal of a rigorous core curriculum that leads to student success. We also pay close attention to the developmental, academic and social needs of our students. Each of the schools is well equipped to meet the variety of student interests and needs. The District employs more than 300 staff members and serves a student population of approximately 2,700. The staff at Orono believes every child deserves a quality education that ignites a yearning for knowledge and an aspiration for excellence. Orono Schools focus on teaching and learning. Results are measured on an individual basis and students are encouraged to measure themselves against their own abilities and to strive for continuous improvement.
