Troy Public Schools is K-12 School district located along the banks of the Kootenai River in the rugged mountains of northwest Montana.  You can reach Troy by traveling along U.S. Highway 2 just 15 miles before you reach the Idaho panhandle.  Troy boasts of being the town with the lowest elevation in the state of Montana at 1880 feet above sea level.  The rugged mountains near Troy include those of the Cabinet Mountain Wilderness area.  Logging and the wood products industry were once major employers of Troy's residents.  Today many of those who live in Troy work at the Troy silver and copper mine, Troy School District, or the U.S. Forest Service.  During the summer there are numerous places to hike, fish, boat, and raft.  Snowmobiling, snow shoeing, and skiing are favorite winter sports.Troy Public Schools educate approximately 400 students in grades K-12. Students in grades 7-12 attend Troy High School while students in grades K-6 attend W. F. Morrison Elementary
