Moultonborough Academy, located in the Lakes Region of Central NH, is a rural Class S school that serves the community of Moultonborough exclusively. Situated on 18 secluded acres, it houses a grades 9 - 12 high school and grades 7-8 middle school with a total student population of approximatley 350. MA enjoys a reputation for academic success in an individualized and challenging environment. The Academy offers a diverse variety of athletics and clubs with excellent facilities including soccer, baseball and softball fields as well as a track and community auditorium. It maintains a commitment to student centered, community based education with a strong focus on the Community Charter, supporting the ethical ideals of respect, responsibility, integrity, compassion and moral courage. The warmth and friendliness of the school climate is remarkable. The commitment to each child is a core tenet of the school’s philosophy and underpins both daily interactions with children and a wide array of programs. There is a low student/teacher ratio, a first-class media center, an up to date computer lab, an outdoor classroom located on the school grounds and various special academic, social and physical offerings during the school day as well as after school activities. The PTA strongly supports the arts and reading incentive programs, as well as provides many volunteer hours and targeted fund raising.
