Constellation Schools: Puritas Community Middle

Puritas Community Middle opened its doors in the fall of 2006. Once a daycare facility, the newly renovated building now contains about 140 students in grades fifth through eighth. At Puritas Community Middle, we strive: To provide an atmosphere of caring and concern for the well being of each student; To assist children with learning difficulties by offering individual attention; To limit class sizes maintaining a workable student/teacher ratio; To provide a sense of growth through special activities, such as, the 100th Day of School Celebration, Puritas Pals Day, music programs, book fairs, and much more; To offer areas of enrichment through field trips and assemblies. To ensure its students are prepared for the state mandated Proficiency Tests, Puritas Community Middle (PTCM) chose the Ohio Academic Content Standards Educational Program as the basis for its Curriculum. The PTCM program includes language arts, social studies, citizenship, sciences, mathematics, art, music and physical education. Art is integrated throughout the curriculum through a variety of opportunities to explore different materials and tools. Students are invited to enjoy art as a process rather than a means to a finished product.
