Knappa SD 4

Knappa School District No. 4 is located in Knappa, Oregon. Knappa is a small, rural (unincorporated) community, approximately 12 miles east of Astoria. Knappa School District is nestled in the middle of vast forest land in the northwest portion of Oregon, near the Columbia River. We have one elementary school (Hilda Lahti School K-8), and one high school (Knappa High School), which serve the unincorporated communities of Knappa, Svensen, Burnside, and Brownsmead. There are 470 students enrolled in the Knappa School District this year. Our district is widely recognized for its many innovative programs and its progressive approach in implementing Oregon's educational reform legislation. We take great pride in the high quality, innovation, and creative teaching and learning that occurs in our schools. Our goal is to strive for continual academic improvement and to promote safe, welcoming, and nurturing environments in our schools where all students can learn. In short, students are the first priority and student success is our primary mission.
