About Daniel Boone Area SD

Description provided by the district or community — not part of the NCES dataset.

The Daniel Boone Area School District is located about 45 miles northwest of Philadelphia along the southern border of Berks County, within 15 minutes of Reading to the north, and Pottstown to the southeast. The district serves a population of approximately 18,500 people and covers an area of 42 square miles. The district is predominately rural/suburban with concentrations of population in Amity Township, Borough of Birdsboro, and Union Township. Within the proximity of many cultural, historical, educational and recreational facilities, the location affords the residents much in the way of cultural and social opportunities. One high school, one middle school, and four elementary buildings service a student population of approximately 3,900 students. The administration building houses the district office as well as the business office with other district wide departments located through out the district. Athletic and other extracurricular opportunities exist at all district buildings through district sponsored activities or community organizations. Individuals wishing to volunteer with the district will find an active community in the efforts of the Parent Teacher Council, Booster Programs and the Daniel Boone Community Foundation.
