Shanksville-Stonycreek SD

The Shanksville-Stonycreek School District is nestled along the slopes of the Allegheny Mountains in the central part of Somerset County about eight miles northeast of Somerset, Pennsylvania and 30 miles northwest of Cumberland, Maryland. It is comprised of the township of Stonycreek and the boroughs of Indian Lake and Shanksville. The school district has a population of approximately 2,500 residents. District Mission Statement: The Shanksville-Stonycreek School District will maximize the potential of the whole student in a safe environment and will provide opportunities for all students to become life-long learners and contributing members of a multi-cultural society while wisely using our resources to maintain the unique character of our community school.
