KATHERINE ANNE PORTER SCHOOL

The Katherine Anne Porter School offers an educational curriculum designed to nurture individual interests, foster an appreciation for learning, enhance community responsibilities, and advance peace and human rights. In small classes, using an integrated and practical approach, students are encouraged to become lifelong learners while earning an accredited high-school diploma. Our aim is that each student will go on to the college and/or the career of her/his choice. The free charter school is founded on the belief held by renowned Texas writer, Katherine Anne Porter, that “knowledge of great art and great thought is a good in itself, not to be missed for anything.” Admission is not based on gender, national origin, ethnicity, religion, disability, academic, artistic, or athletic ability or the district the student would otherwise attend.
