Deer Park ISD is known throughout the State of Texas for its quality instructional program, outstanding facilities and exemplary teaching and support staff. Team Deer Park---comprised of all employees, students, parents, taxpayers, community members and elected officials---received a “Recognized” rating from the State of Texas this year, the seventh time the district received the rating in the last eight years. Deer Park ISD has 842 teachers and 926 other employees [including instructional specialists, office workers, maintenance, custodial employees, classroom aides, technicians, bus drivers, cafeteria employees, and administrators]. Of the district’s teaching staff, 33 percent have advanced degrees. The average number of years of experience for Deer Park ISD’s teachers is 13 years, and the district’s teacher turn-over rate is a low 8.8 percent compared to the state average of 15.2 percent. This proves that when outstanding teachers find their way to Deer Park, they want to remain a part of our instructional team.
