The Stevenson-Carson School District is a K-12 district located in the Columbia River Gorge. A National Scenic Area, the Columbia River Gorge offers breathtaking views of tree covered mountains and streams dropping to the massive Columbia River below. While located in a rural area, serving the towns of Stevenson, North Bonneville, Carson, Stabler and Home Valley, the Portland/Vancouver metropolitan area is just 40 miles west of the District. The District’s motto is “Children First.” While not a unique motto, the commitment and sincerity of the staff is genuine. Stevenson-Carson School District’s highest priorities are instructional with a clear focus to improve student reading performance. The commitment to consistent curriculum review and use of proven result-driven programs is a cornerstone of the commitment to place students first.
