About Melrose-Mindoro School District

Description provided by the district or community — not part of the NCES dataset.

We are a rural district located in Southwestern Wisconsin. Our school district is located approximately 25-30 minutes from Black River Falls, Sparta, and La Crosse. We are a small district consisting of: 700 students, 65 full time teachers, 3 guidance counselors, 2 principals, 1 superintendent. We at Mel-Min hope that you thoroughly enjoy your visit to our school and that this web page will provide you with all necessary information you need. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact any of the schools. Our Philosophy: Our school has a responsibility to provide an atmosphere in which the student has freedom to learn in an environment stimulating and conducive to learning. Our efforts center on developing the ability to communicate - reading, writing, and speaking from knowledge - with clarity and self-confidence. We consider this ability an indispensable prerequisite for survival in today's world. Cognizant of the ever-expanding body of knowledge and the tendency toward specialization in the present age, we aim to create an environment and a curriculum that will aid the student in pursuing his/her personal goals in preparing himself/herself for the future. Finally, recognizing that there are more sublime qualities that must be fostered in a student, we strive to help him/her to become both a viable individual as well as a productive and useful member of society. To these ends we consider personal integrity, in its broadest sense, essential.
