Cathedral Home for Children - Administration Office

Located in the Laramie Valley between Medicine Bow National Forests, Cathedral Home for Children has helped youth become successful with relationships, school, and daily life for over 100 years. In 1910, Cathedral Home began as an orphanage, providing shelter for children around the state of Wyoming. In the last century the agency has developed into a full service residential treatment home that serves troubled and traumatized youth, including those that are deaf or hard-of-hearing. The campus of Cathedral Home is located just north of Laramie, Wyoming. Cathedral Home consists of five residential cottages, The Hays Health Care Center, Mae Olson Education Center, an administration building, and a chapel. In addition to the main Campus, the Home has two in-town residential homes, and sponsors the Laramie Youth Crisis Center. Utilizing a relationship based approach to treatment; Cathedral Home for Children is devoted to breaking the cycle of violence, despair, and failure. Cathedral Home facilitates the formation of healthy relationships through positive reinforcement, constructive criticism, and natural consequences. The structured, family oriented environment provides the skills necessary for building healthy relationships. One of the primary goals for completing treatment is the ability to transfer these new skills to daily life, school, family, and friends outside of the Home.
