NORMATIVE SERVICES - ADMINISTRATION OFFICE

NSI Academy was founded in 1991 in Sheridan, Wyoming as a private, non-profit program offering residential treatment and educational services to Wyoming's adolescents with behavioral and emotional problems. The program is located in the foothills of the Big Horn Mountains in Sheridan, Wyoming on a campus of over 300 acres. We serve male and female students ranging from ages thirteen to seventeen. We strive to provide our students with a caring high school environment, to include a traditional school day with after school extracurricular activities and athletic program, to allow them to more easily transition back to their own community/school. We have a dedicated, qualified staff, many of whom have been with NSI for years. Rather than a "secure/lock down" campus, NSI's staff provides 24/7 supervision to ensure the safety and security of our students. Our belief in our students' abilities, potential, and capacity to thrive and excel in a safe and challenging environment grows stronger each year. We have six main residential sites on our large, rural campus. Four are for males, two are for females. Each modern, well maintained residence is developed to look and feel as much like a family home as possible. Each residence has staff members who are assigned only to that site, with staff working on shifts throughout the 24-hour day. This provides for the development of a close personal "home team" at each site, with ample backup and input from other teams to form a solid, caring community. In addition to the team at each residence, NSI has a large support staff that-regularly interacts with the house teams to provide all of the needed services to meet our students' needs.
