Plaza Elementary School District is a small single school district situated on almost 10 acres in the Sacramento Valley, 100 miles North of Sacramento and 7 miles East of Orland California, in Glenn County. Plaza School is the oldest school in Glenn County and was established around 1865. It was originally named Placer school. However, soon after it was established a large group of settlers from Missouri found their way to the area and began to pronounce the name of the school in their mid-western accent, and the school has been pronounced Plaza ever since.
